On the morning of September 5, 2026, at Hall B4, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU-HCM, the Faculty of Geology and Petroleum Engineering held the Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year, officially welcoming the 2026 freshmen to the Faculty.
The ceremony was attended by faculty members, staff, academic advisors, class advisors, and new students from the Faculty’s three academic programs: Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering. The event not only marked the beginning of a new academic year but also represented an important milestone for the freshmen as they embark on a new journey of learning, exploring knowledge, developing themselves, and building a strong foundation for their future careers.
In the exciting atmosphere of the new academic year, the freshmen had the opportunity to become familiar with the Faculty’s academic environment, meet their lecturers, and learn about important aspects of their upcoming studies and university life. Following the Opening Ceremony, the class advisors for the 2026 cohort met with the new students to provide essential information, answer their questions, and offer guidance and support from the very beginning of their university journey.
Building upon its strong tradition in education and its commitment to continuous innovation, the Faculty of Geology and Petroleum Engineering hopes that the 2026 freshmen will maintain their passion for learning, proactive spirit, creativity, and determination to embrace new challenges. The years ahead will provide valuable opportunities for students not only to acquire professional knowledge but also to develop their skills, critical thinking, and sense of professional responsibility.
