International Conference on Earth Science and Petroleum Engineering (ICEP)

We are pleased to announce you that the 30th anniversary International Conference on Earth Science and Petroleum Engineering (ICEP) organized by the Faculty of Geology and Petroleum Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM will be held at the HCMUT, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on November 30, 2023.

The conference aims to bringtogether a diverse presentations from international and Vietnamese scholars, academics and industry researchers, policy makers, entrepreneurs to share their state-of-the-art research findings and to enhance understanding of sustainable petroleum exploration and  production for climate change adaptation strategies. The conference’s objective is also to improve collaboration between research institutes and/or universities and policy makers and/or industrial companies. All papers related to the main topics listed below are highly welcome.

The main topics of the ICEP are as follows:

  • Unconventional oil and gas and marginal oil fields
  • Artificial Intelligent (AI) applications in geosciences
  • Sustainable developments in petroleum engineering for adapting climatic and environmental changes
  • Energy transition

We encourage and welcome the researchers to submit their manuscript which will be considered for publication in the conference proceeding or/and on a special issue indexed by Scopus. All submitted papers will be peer reviewed by experts of the international scientific committee of the ICEP.

The content of the field trip

A three-day field trip (December 01-03) will be organized to enable the participants to visit Ha Tien, Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam, which is one of the most valuable and interesting sites for geological researchers. This region can be considered as an extension of the Phu Quoc Basin, which is located at the rim of the Malay – Tho Chu basin where many international oil-gas companies are operating. This area exhibits some important evolutions of geological features including sea level fluctuations, tectonic activities, and fossil sites, which would be interesting for geoscientists in searching new ideas for developing research directions of sustainable resource production and rational energy conversion.
